Merging Science & Feedback to Increase Your Understanding

Assessments are completed by our Testing Psychologists with extensive testing experience, some ranging from 10 to 20+ years of testing experience. In addition to working with the Psychologist, you may also work with our Psychometrist who is specifically trained and experienced in test administration, scoring, statistic and data review, and has her Master’s Degree in Psychology. Testing at our practice includes comprehensive assessments that use objective standardized measures and subjective protocols to help children and adults uncover and better understand underlying factors leading to current difficulties and history of functioning. Results of testing also guide diagnosis and inform treatment planning at a depth that talk therapy does not and medical screenings do not account for. The results and specific recommendations that testing provides are extremely valuable in medication management with a psychiatrist, comprehensive medical treatment with a physician, educational planning by a teacher, and responses to children by parents. Testing is also valuable in immigration cases and for adoptive parents to determine hardship, level of adjustment and cognitive, behavioral, social-emotional, and trauma histories.

Learn more about yourself or a loved one and the best approach to helping them from comprehensive testing results.

- We provide testing for children & adults! -

Testing Process typically includes:

  • Intake Appointment

  • Assessment/Testing Sessions (ranging from 1 to 3, depending on various factors that include each person’s testing ability, referral question, observation time needed, and scheduling availability)

  • Feedback Appointment

It takes time to complete the tests and collect the data. The initial data collection phase is then followed by a period of data analysis and report writing time by the Testing Psychologist and Psychometrician. Once that is completed, you will then meet again with the doctor for a feedback session to receive a complete testing report with the results and descriptions of the data, as well as a summary of results and specific treatment recommendations based on the reason for testing.

Is it covered by insurance?

Yes! Most insurance companies cover testing, but may differ in the amount they cover for this service. When you complete testing with us and choose to use insurance, our billing department will contact your insurance company before the first appointment for details about coverage and if there is any patient responsibility. We also encourage you to call your insurance for information and make sure we are on the same page.

If you choose to call your insurance company, it may be helpful to ask some of the following questions:

Is psychological testing covered? Is there a patient responsibility? What portion will be reimbursed? Do I need a referral?
