Dr. Basov is the Owner/Director of the Center for Psychology and Wellness, and a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 12 years of clinical experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults with their mental health. Dr. Basov is also certified as an ADHD treatment specialist and trained as a mindfulness based cognitive therapist. Dr. Basov currently provides individual therapy to young adults and adults who are impacted by anxiety, depression, mood, stress, adjustment and life transitions, identity development, and parenting stress. Dr. Basov also supports individuals who are seeking to enhance their joy, sense of meaning, and connection in life, as well as manage their physical health along with their mental health.
Dr. Basov also specializes in her work as a Testing Psychologist, providing evaluations to youth and adults to help with diagnosis and treatment planning related to ADHD, Autism, anxiety, mood disorder, learning differences, personality disorders and concerns, social-emotional difficulties, impulse control problems, and more.
As a multicultural and bilingual person, Dr. Basov developed a passion for self-discovery and identity development throughout her life which transpired into helping others do the same. She is passionate about self-esteem and identify development, as well as challenging and replacing thought patterns that have become unhelpful, unrealistic, and get in the way of people feeling and doing things they desire in their life. She is also dedicated and skilled at helping others use techniques to safely tolerate distress and regulate emotions, question and replace problematic thoughts, communicate effectively, and become more mindful. By working with people on how they think, it leads to significant changes in how they feel, behave, and experience each moment they are in and their overall quality of life. Seeing people take ownership and control in their lives, feel safe despite a history of anxiety or fear, become confident as their own unique self, and able to successfully connect with others and the world around them is truly fulfilling for Dr. Basov, as both a mental health professional and human being.
Dr. Basov founded the Center for Psychology and Wellness in 2014 and has also been the Clinical Director of this growing practice since it was established. Dr. Basov has a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Masters Degree in Counseling. She earned her Doctorate and Master's Degree from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Basov has obtained a clinical specialty in child and family therapy, as well as psychological testing and evaluation. Her area of expertise in therapy includes Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, Stress Management, Parenting Stress, Family Conflict, ADHD, Impulse Control, Behavioral Challenges, Learning Difficulties, Complex Trauma, Immigration & Adoption. She also utilizes Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Systems and Structural Family Therapy, and Solution Focused Interventions in her integrative and evidence-based approach. Her style is built on providing a supportive and skills-based approach in treatment to help people better cope with stressors and symptoms in their daily lives. Prior to working in private practice, Dr. Basov worked as a psychologist in various professional settings, including behavioral health hospitals, residential treatment facilities, and schools.
