Professional Bio.
Lanicia is a Psychotherapist who works with children, adolescents, adults, individuals, and groups. Lanicia received her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University. She has worked with a diverse population including minority, LGBTQIA and children/families involved in the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS). She looks forward to working with you, in hopes of helping you create the life that you want to live.
Lanicia understands that life’s experiences can sometimes be tough to process. Whether it be that you’ve experienced child or adult trauma or are working through a major life transition, she believes that whatever you acknowledge, you can work through. Her goal is to provide a safe space for you to explore those experiences while offering you helpful tools to assist you along that journey.
Lanicia approaches therapy from a collaborative and integrative lens, believing that every person knows what is best for self and that each person needs a different set of tools in their toolbox. A session may include exploration of trauma, psychoeducation on mind/body connection, addressing harmful thinking patterns and behaviors, and the development of healthy coping skills using both clinical and holistic techniques.
If you are dealing with symptoms of post-traumatic stress from trauma experienced in your childhood, adolescence or adulthood, anxiety, depression, daily life stressors, addiction, self-esteem issues, self -sabotage or grief, Lanicia wants to offer you an empathetic, judgement free space to work through those concerns. Her ultimate goal is to help you achieve a healthier and more fulfilling life.
