Through her experiences with different clients and in different clinical settings, Marlene continues her passion for counseling and understanding others in private practice. She is committed to building a connection that will help clients understand themselves and build skills that will set them up for success. Marlene understands the complexities of those struggling with their mental health and life challenges. She is dedicated to empower, advocate, and support individuals to overcome obstacles and live fulfilling lives.

Marlene holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from Lee University and she is currently completing her Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at National Lewis University. Her clinical experiences come from various clinical settings, including residential and school based facilities, with children, adolescents, and adults.

In addition to the services she provides in private practice at the Center for Psychology and Wellness as a clinical intern, Marlene also currently works for West40 where she advocates for students with different needs and accommodations to help them succeed in academics, social-emotional learning, and behavioral needs.

Marlene has previously worked as a Behavioral Health Counselor, Supervisor, and Case Manager at the Eating Recovery Center. She assisted adolescent and adult clients with individual therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation, transportation, and housing needs. Marlene collaborated with therapists, supervisors, and psychiatrists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, as well as provided support for individuals transitioning from hospital setting to independent living. Marlene has also worked in a residential facility and community mental health clinic where she supported adults in a Transitional Living Program.
